Get Connected with Social Networking
Social networking is one of the best ways to get your site or product noticed by people and search engines. This is a phenomenon that is defined by linking people to each other in some way.
If you think about it, there are thousands, if not millions of different topics or niches on the Internet. It can be virtually impossible for people to find what they want and connect with like-minded people. Social networking makes this possible. There is a growing network of Internet users who all share common interests.
Just like Internet users love utilizing these kinds of sites to find the information they want, you can use them to spread the word about your product, business, event, or pretty much anything else. The best part is that the word spreads quickly through a targeted audience. Things like this weren’t even possible a few short years ago!
Not only can users find your site through social networking sites, but search engines will take notice as well. Every time you post relevant information that points to your website you are also growing your backlinks. Since social networking sites often have a high page rank these are quality links as well.
You can choose to link to your main page to drive up your own page rank. On the other hand, if you have a particular article, post, or section of your website that you want to drive more traffic to you can always deep link through social networking sites.
It’s hard to tell exactly what kind of content will take off. But with a lot of research and a little bit of luck you will have some content that will bring hundreds and even thousands of visitors. One way to do this is to create what is called “link bait.” Link bait is something that is so interesting, unique, or shocking that your link becomes viral as people spread the information around.
The more you post to social networking sites, the wider your brand spreads. People will start to equate your name or product with being the solution to what they are looking for.
One of the best things is that social networking tends to be completely free. You only need to consider the amount of time it takes to submit your link with a description of the content of your article. The rewards this can bring you are immeasurable.
You don’t have to depend on yourself to help your site go viral either. Friends and colleagues can favorite you, link to you, and vote for you. This provides social proof that creates a chain reaction of visitors and interest in what you are doing.
It’s easy to turn the tables as well. Perhaps you’re just starting out in a new niche and you’re not quite sure what you’re doing yet. You need to know the content to provide, the questions to answer, and where the people in your niche are spending money. A great way to find the answers to all of those questions is to look on social networking sites where your target market is hanging out.
