Offline AdWords for Affiliates
AdWords has added a fantastic feature that almost any affiliate can use. Offline ads can work phenomenally well, because there’s much less competition offline than online.
Newspaper ads can work very well for products that have wide appeal, such as money-making opportunities, weight loss, financial information, and credit help. You’ve probably seen those late-night television infomercials that claim you can make thousands of dollars by placing tiny little classified ads, right?
They were very popular for a great many years. Indeed, classified ads can be a great way to bring in sales, especially to those products with mass appeal. A lot of people have made fortunes through placing classified ads.
Of course, it’s always been a tedious process to place ads in hundreds of newspapers all around the country. It takes a lot of time to contact all of those newspapers, ask for their circulation numbers and prices, and place your ads. It can also be difficult to track which ads have been run, and when.
But Google has made things much easier with their Print Ads program. You can find information about this inside your regular AdWords account admin area. There are hundreds of newspapers currently available to advertise in.
You can choose which newspapers you’d like to advertise in, the section you’d like your ad to appear in, and the day you’d like your ad to run. You can target specific areas, or you can choose to advertise in many cities at once.
The great thing about advertising in newspapers is the fact that there will be less competition than there is online. Let’s say you’re promoting a weight loss eBook. If you search Google for “weight loss” (without quotes), you get over 76,000,000 results!
Can you imagine a newspaper with 76 million classified ads on weight loss alone? When was the last time you saw more than 100 or so ads in a single newspaper section, aside from perhaps the rentals or real estate sections? Even the Sunday issue of the biggest newspaper in a major city doesn’t have more than a few hundred ads per niche section!
You can get your ad in front of thousands or even millions of people for very little money. Classified ads can often be had for well under $100. Some newspapers may charge as little as $10 for a three line ad. You could place an ad in dozens of newspapers for the price of a single banner ad on a high-traffic website!
By using Google’s new Print Ads service, you can get lots of traffic to your affiliate website quickly. You could even set up a website that reviews several competing affiliate products, and state in your ad that you have unbiased reviews of the top weight loss products, or the best work at home opportunities, or whatever you’re promoting.
